About the Job

Bowhead is seeking a Web Application Developer to join an established team in Dahlgren, VA. The role involves analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and deploying web-based applications in a .Net IIS environment. The developer will support ongoing development and operations on an existing contract. The position requires both independent work and collaboration within a team to develop database-driven web applications based on provided requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of web activities, tools, HTML, and GUI design techniques.

  • Experience with RDMS (Oracle preferred); experience with data warehouses is a plus.

  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, TOAD, and IIS.

  • Support and development of SharePoint.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with effective verbal and written communication.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and schedules based on customer needs.

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Work with various levels of contractor and government personnel.

  • Provide individualized user support when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in .Net web application development, Oracle SQL, and related tools like Microsoft Visual Studio, TOAD, and IIS.

  • A high school diploma is required; a Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL, with experience working with RDMS (preferably Oracle) and data warehouses.

  • Knowledge of web techniques, tools, and GUI design.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance while adjusting to changing priorities and schedules.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and external contacts.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 10-15 pounds.

  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

Security Clearance:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required to secure the clearance for this position.
