Internship Summary:
The Web Design/Development Intern will work with AFL’s Interactive Marketing group to support website and intranet projects. The intern will assist with coding, testing, formatting graphics, and collaborating with business units on ongoing projects. Opportunities may also include researching and testing emerging technologies for potential application in web development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with coding and web development tasks under guidance from Interactive Web Developers.

Test existing code and troubleshoot issues.

Format and optimize graphics for web use.

Collaborate with business units and internal teams to support web projects.

Research and evaluate new technologies for potential implementation in web development.

Ensure compliance with web standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
-
Enrollment in a degree program in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Web Design, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience with web development/design, particularly responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, CSS Flexbox, etc.).

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Familiarity with TypeScript and JavaScript ES6 is a plus.

Experience with Angular is highly desirable.

Familiarity with .NET (including .NET Core), web APIs, and SQL is a plus for backend development support.

Understanding of SEO/SEM, analytics, and media placement.

Experience with content management systems (Sitecore, Liferay, Adobe, etc.).

Knowledge of Git version control preferred.

Strong understanding of web standards, publishing, and development concepts.
