About the Role:
The Volunteer Web Developer will play a crucial part in expanding our church’s online reach by designing, developing, and maintaining an engaging, user-friendly website. You’ll collaborate with ministry leaders to bring their vision to life through creative digital solutions that reflect the church’s heart for outreach and community transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop responsive, user-centered web pages that enhance the overall digital experience.
- Implement new features such as donation pages, event registration systems, and multimedia archives.
- Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO to improve accessibility and visibility.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the church’s CMS (WordPress, Squarespace, or equivalent).
- Collaborate with the communications team and ministry leaders to align design with church goals.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with an eye for clean and maintainable code.
- Familiarity with WordPress, Squarespace, or similar CMS platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage projects independently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical details to non-technical members.
