Summary
We are looking for a Welder 1 to join our production team. In this role, you will perform quality welding of railcar parts and fixtures using manual and semi-automatic processes. You will also inspect your work, make necessary repairs, and ensure all safety and quality standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities

Fit, align, and clamp workpieces (usually in fixtures) to prepare for welding.

Perform manual and semi-automatic arc welding on railcar parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.

Follow job orders, including Weld Procedure Sheets, at your workstation.

Inspect welds visually and repair defective work as required.

Maintain housekeeping and safety standards.

Use and maintain proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Minimum Qualifications

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to complete and pass weld qualification testing after company-provided training.
Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience with manual or semi-automatic arc welding.

Previous experience in a production environment.

Ability to operate (or willingness to learn to operate) a forklift and overhead crane with company-provided training and certification.
Work Environment
-
Production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving machinery, and trip hazards.

Exposure to welding, machining, forming, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metalworking processes.

PPE required: head, eye, hearing, and foot protection (including composite-toe safety shoes).

Additional PPE may be required depending on specific tasks.
