Position Overview

We are hiring a Welder B (GMAW/GTAW) for our Fort Worth, Texas facility. In this role, you will build and weld ASME pressure tanks, perform fabrication tasks, and ensure all work meets the requirements of qualified Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and engineering drawings. You will contribute to the safe and efficient production of critical water technology components while upholding Watts’ core values: Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, and Transparency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Fit, tack weld, and final weld ASME pressure tanks per specifications.

  • Perform duplex stainless steel and carbon steel welding.

  • Pull and verify parts from the Bill of Materials (BOM) against blueprints and work orders.

  • Follow ASME Section I, Section IV, HLW, and Section VIII Division 1 rules.

  • Inspect and maintain tools, consumables, cranes, and forklifts.

  • Complete crane safety logs and operate lifting equipment for material handling.

  • Support safety initiatives by attending meetings, inspecting gear, and maintaining a clean workspace.

  • Mentor less experienced welders and contribute to team success.


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of welding fabrication experience (ASME experience preferred).

  • Valid forklift license (Watts will provide training/certification if needed).

  • Ability to use calipers, weld gauges, and tape measures.

  • Strong blueprint and welding symbol reading skills.

  • Must pass 2G GMAW and 2G GTAW Welding Tests.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years ASME pressure vessel fabrication experience.

  • Combination welding experience (GMAW + GTAW).

  • Experience with Duplex Stainless Steel and/or exotic materials.

  • Familiarity with Fanuc robot programming and Lincoln Electric welders.


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Onsite position at our Fort Worth, TX facility (1st or 2nd shift).

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and push/pull up to 150 lbs.

  • Must wear PPE (safety shoes, hearing protection, welding hood, etc.).
