Job Summary
Join the Polaris Huntsville team as a Welder and become part of a fast-paced, cutting-edge manufacturing environment. In this role, you will weld full frames for Polaris side-by-side utility vehicles and the Slingshot.
As a Welder, you will use the MIG welding process on mild steel in an assembly line or work cell setting while ensuring all quality standards and specifications are met. This position requires the ability to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
Our welding facility operates 24/7, and Welders may be required to work 6-7 days per week. Prior welding experience is preferred, but if you are interested in a welding career without prior experience, you can start as a Moto (Robotic Weld) Operator and develop welding skills with Polaris!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Welding Operations

Perform arc and MIG welding on steel materials for RANGER or Slingshot production.

Pass a welding assessment based on company standards.

Train on Polaris-specific welding processes and arc monitoring systems.
Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery Focus

Execute welding tasks according to production schedules.

Maintain a steady work pace throughout the shift while ensuring high-quality standards.

Inspect all parts before and after welding; report any issues to the Group Leader or Supervisor immediately.

Complete all required production documentation, including labor reporting, move tickets, and SPC charts.

Conduct quality testing and maintain proper documentation.

Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Follow housekeeping standards (5S).
Team-Oriented Approach

Operate robotic welding equipment as needed based on business demands.

Rotate between workstations as assigned.

Maintain reliable attendance.
-
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Group Leader.
Skills & Knowledge

Must be at least 18 years old.

Basic computer skills required.

Preferred: One year of manufacturing experience or educational training in welding.

Preferred: Prior welding experience.
Physical Requirements

Lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs.

Perform repetitive upper-body movements.
-
Bend, twist, kneel, squat, and reach overhead continuously.

Stand and walk for extended periods.
-
Tolerate high heat conditions for long durations.

Use air/power tools and perform strong pincher-grip motions.

Work safely around moving equipment, power tools, and industrial vehicles.

May need to perform these functions for up to 12 hours per day.
