Welder Night Shift

Job Summary

We are seeking skilled Welders to lay out, fit, and weld metal components for beds, frames, and small parts work orders. This role requires precision, safety, and a strong understanding of welding practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow and promote BWise safety standards at all times.

  • Analyze drawings and specifications to plan layouts, assemblies, and welding operations.

  • Position, align, and secure parts using a variety of measuring tools.

  • Perform tack-welds and welding on components and assemblies.

  • Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, distortion, or material defects.

  • Inspect weld quality for conformance to specifications.

  • Measure grooves, angles, and gaps using appropriate tools.

  • Remove rough spots using grinders or hand files.

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

  • Adjust flame/arc settings for proper welding output.

  • Report faulty equipment or materials to supervisors.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Welding Supervisor.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Stand for entire shift; sit for extended periods when needed.

  • Lift up to 50 lbs; full range of motion required (bending, kneeling, stooping).

  • Exposure to heat, cold, dust, oil, welding fumes, bright lights, UV radiation, burns, and noise.

  • Must wear required PPE.

PPE Requirements

  • Steel-toed or composite safety shoes

  • Safety glasses

  • Earplugs

  • Gloves (when handling material)

  • Welding Helmet (provided by employee; company supplies consumables/lenses)

  • Grinding shield

  • Welding sleeves

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Vocational/technical training or certification in welding OR equivalent on-the-job experience.

  • Knowledge of metallurgy fundamentals related to welding.

  • Ability to read tape measures, work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
