Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plater to join our growing fabrication team. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience in metal fabrication, MIG/STICK welding, and plating processes.

As a Plater, you will play a crucial role in preparing and assembling metal components, ensuring precision and quality throughout the production cycle. This position offers the opportunity to work with a skilled team, modern equipment, and contribute to producing high-performance metal structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, grinding, sanding, or blasting in preparation for plating and assembly

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Assemble and fabricate components using MIG and STICK welding techniques, ensuring structurally sound finishes

  • Operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and sheet metal equipment safely and efficiently

  • Conduct visual and dimensional quality inspections on finished products

  • Follow health and safety procedures, maintaining a clean and organised workspace

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in metal fabrication and plating

  • Proficiency in MIG and STICK welding (additional welding experience is a plus)

  • Skilled in the safe use of power tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on workshop experience

  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions

  • Basic maths skills for measurement, scaling, and layout calculations

  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high-quality standards

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
